CMS Goes Green to Save Millions | |||||||||||||||||||
| CMS has implemented an E-Sign option into our sign up process for Independent Contractors. "The E-Sign feature was put in place to be an additional benefit to our clients," said Dennis Roccaforte, President and founder of CMS. "However, when you consider the reduction of paper, scanning and copying time, and storage needs, it looks like the new service will be a great benefit to everyone." |

| CMS Launches New Occupational Accident Insurance Policy | |||||||||||||||||||||
| CMS is very excited to announce a new partnership with Special Insurance Services (SIS). This new relationship will offer greater levels of service and coverage to our members and valued clients. As a result, CMS brings to the table a new program our industry has never seen before. CMS now has a Contingent Indemnity and Employers Liability Policy to help navigate the sometimes treacherous waters in the workers compensation world. Our clients will be listed as Additional Named Insured - AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. Some of the benefits include: Contingent Indemnity and Employers Liability are now part of the new CMS program. Contingent Indemnity is a policy designed to protect you in the event someone is classified as an employee for workers compensation purposes. This policy will pay the difference between the occupational accident benefits and the workers compensation statutory benefits. Employers Liability is designed to offset the expenses of litigation in the event someone classified as an employee sues for negligence. We are proud to offer this extended coverage to you at no additional cost. If you apply this value to the existing number of independent contractors whose services you are utilizing, it would typically cost you an additional $12 - $25 per IC per month. With CMS there is no cost. CMS now has the ability to track claims online and will work directly with you to manage this process. SIS will work with both CMS and yourself to offer a complete claims program designed to close open claims quickly and watch for trending. |

| In recognition of recent gasoline price increases, the IRS made this special adjustment for the final months of 2008. The IRS normally updates the mileage rates once a year in the fall for the next calendar year. The rate will increase to 58.5 cents a mile for all business miles driven from July 1, 2008, through Dec. 31, 2008. This is an increase of eight (8) cents from the 50.5 cent rate in effect for the first six months of 2008, as in Rev. Proc. 2007-70. The new six-month rate for computing deductible medical or moving expenses will also increase by eight (8) cents to 27 cents a mile, up from 19 cents for the first six months of 2008. The rate for providing services for charitable organizations is set by statute, not the IRS, and remains at 14 cents a mile. The optional business standard mileage rate is used to compute the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business use in lieu of tracking actual costs. This rate is also used as a benchmark by the federal government and many businesses to reimburse their employees for mileage. The new rates are contained in "Announcement 2008-63" on the optional standard mileage rates. |

"We are set to roll-out new and exciting benefits, for our valued existing and future clients, that have been enhanced due to the savings that we have experience in other areas of our operation".
